Hearing loss is progressive, permanent and preventable.

Noise, or unwanted sound, is one of the most common occupational health problems worldwide. Noise-induced hearing loss begins with prolonged exposure to any noise at or above 85 decibels.

The goal of OSU’s Hearing Conservation Program is to monitor and protect employees who have the potential to develop noise-induced hearing loss. In collaboration with Environmental Health & Safety, OHS provides annual hearing testing for those enrolled.
